Hi Air Korea Fan Replacement for Offshore Platforms
We supply replacement axial and propeller fans, plus parts, for Hi Air Korea (HAK) ventilation units on offshore platforms and vessels. Send us the model on the nameplate, HCA, MNA, MXA or ELA, and we match the airflow, the opening, and the hazardous-area rating.
While manufacturers like Hi Air Korea are backed up, we source the replacement domestically. We carry several axial lines and quote the one that ships soonest.
Our offices are in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth, serving Texas and the Gulf Coast, and we ship nationwide.

Match Your HAK Model to a Domestic Fan
Every Hi Air Korea offshore fan family has a domestic equivalent we can supply. Find the prefix stamped on your nameplate in the table below, then send us the full model number with the airflow and static pressure the space is rated for.
| HAK family | Type | Discharge | Impeller range | What we supply |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HCA | Mushroom | Downward | 300–1120 mm | Explosion-proof axial fans with the motor out of the airstream |
| MNA | Bifurcated | Upward | 500–1600 mm | Bifurcated axial fans |
| MXA | Bifurcated | Upward | 500–1400 mm | Bifurcated axial fans |
| ELA | Elbow | Elbow | 300–500 mm | Tube axial fans |
All 4 families use an aluminium alloy hub, shell and blades, with the explosion-proof motor mounted outside the airflow.
We match that construction, the opening, and the duct connection, so the replacement drops into the same footprint.
If the nameplate is painted over or gone, we can work backward. Photograph the fan in place, measure the opening and the duct connection, and tell us what space it serves.
That is usually enough to identify the family and size the replacement.
Replacement Parts and Rebuilds
You do not always need a whole fan.
If the casing is sound, we supply the failed part instead.
- Explosion-proof and general purpose motors
- Impellers and blade sets
- Bearings and shafts
- Inlet and outlet guards
- Mounting hardware and flanges
Motors carry the rating. A substitute motor has to match the protection type and temperature class, or the fan is no longer certified for the space. Send a photo of the motor plate and the fan plate. They are two different plates.
Replace the whole fan when:
- The casing has corroded through
- The mounting flange no longer seats
- Impeller and motor have both failed
While the fan is down, we also supply the hazardous-area equipment around it: explosion-proof actuators, marine shut-off dampers, non-return dampers, A60 fire-rated louvers, and explosion-proof heaters.
Hazardous-Area Ratings Carried Over
A replacement has to hold the same certification as the fan it replaces. We spec to the classification the space already carries:
- ISO 15138 — offshore installation ventilation and air conditioning
- ATEX and IECEx — hazardous area equipment
- ABS, DNV-GL and USCG — classification and flag approval
- IMO MODU Code — mobile offshore drilling units
- SOLAS A60 — fire-rated divisions and penetrations
- NEC Class I Division 1 and 2, Articles 500-505 — US hazardous locations
Domestic sourcing carries an advantage here. The same fan can be supplied to NEC Class I Division ratings for US work and to ATEX or IECEx where the hull is classed internationally. Tell us which the platform is surveyed under.
More detail on codes and survey requirements is on our offshore HVAC systems page.
Delivery and Warranty
Delivery is the reason to call us. When the original manufacturer is backed up, the fan is still down and the platform is still losing money.
- We check every axial line we carry before we quote and give you the one that ships soonest
- Domestic sourcing means a US lead time, not an ocean freight schedule
- Warranty work is handled here, not filed overseas
- We quote from your nameplate photo, so there is no drawing cycle first
Warranty. We work with manufacturers offering five-year limited warranties, against an industry standard of two.
We carry more than one axial line, so the replacement matches what the job calls for, not what one catalog happens to sell.
