Backdraft Damper

Backdraft dampers utilize gravity for the blades to restrict air flow in one direction. This prevents contaminated air to filter back through the air system.

Backdraft dampers are typically applied on fan outlets. Airflow forces the backdraft blades open which allows air to move in the preferred direction. Conversely, when airflow stops the damper blades will fall to the closed position, which restricts airflow from passing through.
